Your birthday

Day and month are enough.

How the daily arcana is calculated

Daily arcana is tarot numerology applied to the calendar. Instead of shuffling a deck, you add up the date and see which of the 22 Major Arcana cards it lands on. There are two versions: one for everyone, and one that’s yours.

Today's card for everyone

Add every digit of the date and, if the total is over 22, add its digits again, exactly as the arcana calculator does with a birth date. Take October 22, 2026: 1 + 0 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 15, The Devil. Everyone shares that card that day, like a weather report for the mood of the date.

Your personal day card

Your personal day card threads your birthday through three layers, each one sitting inside the last:

  1. Year card: birth month + birth day + this year. Born March 15, in 2026: 3 + 15 + 2026 = 2044 → 2 + 0 + 4 + 4 = 10, the Wheel of Fortune. Your tarot year card explains it in full.
  2. Month card: year card + the calendar month. In October: 10 + 10 = 20, Judgement. See all twelve with the month card calculator.
  3. Day card: month card + the day of the month. On October 22: 20 + 22 = 42 → 4 + 2 = 6, The Lovers.

That nesting is the point: today’s card is read inside this month’s theme, which sits inside this year’s. The full list of formulas is on the methodology page.

What each card means as your day card

How to use your daily arcana

  • Morning: read the card's one-line message and plan something small that fits it, like answering the email you have been avoiding.
  • During the day: notice where the theme turns up, in a conversation, a choice or a mood.
  • Evening: write one sentence about it. After a few weeks you'll have a useful record of your own patterns.

For a shuffled card from the full deck instead of a calculated one, use the daily tarot reading. For the numerology version of your day, the personal year calculator shows your personal day numbers on a calendar. For dates with a special number pattern, such as 11:11, see the spiritual calendar.

When does the daily card change?

At midnight on your own device. The page reads today’s date from your phone or computer, so the card turns over when your local date does, not at a fixed time worldwide.

Is today’s card the same in every country?

Not always. Each device uses its own local date, and places far apart are on different dates for part of every day. Sydney is usually 14 to 16 hours ahead of New York, so for more than half of each day the two cities see different collective cards.

Can I work out the card for a past or future date?

Yes, with the same digit sum the page uses for today. For example, December 25, 2026 gives 1 + 2 + 2 + 5 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 20, Judgement. The page itself always shows today’s card, and the table on this page lists what each card means as a day card.

What is the difference between daily arcana and a daily tarot draw?

Daily arcana is calculated: the same date always gives the same card, and it only uses the 22 Major Arcana. A daily tarot reading is a shuffled draw from all 78 cards. Many people use both: the calculated card as the theme of the day, the drawn card as a second opinion.

Why do I need to enter my birthday?

Only for the personal day card. The collective card comes from the date alone. Your birthday threads your own year and month cards into the sum, so your day card is different from someone born on another day. Day and month are enough.

Is a hard card like The Tower or Death a bad sign for the day?

No. Daily cards describe a theme to work with, not an event. A Tower day might just be a good day to drop a plan that isn’t working; a Death day suits clearing out and finishing things.
