Your birth date and name
Every calculation runs in your web browser. The dates and names you type into our calculators aren’t sent to us or saved on our servers.
To make a result easy to bookmark or share, your date is added to the end of the page address after a # sign, for example #d=1990-03-15. That part of the address stays in your browser. It isn’t sent to our servers or included in our analytics. Anyone you share the link with can see it, so only send it to people you’re happy to show.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found the site. It uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device, browser and the pages you view. We don’t send it your birth date, your name or the result part of the page address.
Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
What your browser saves
Two optional preferences are saved in your browser’s local storage, on your device only:
- Theme (
theme): whether you chose light or dark mode. - Saved dates (
arcana-profiles): if you save a birth date, with or without a name, for quick reuse. Up to six are kept. Remove one with its × button, or clear them all by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
Advertising
The site doesn’t show ads at the moment, and we never sell your information. To help keep the calculators free, we may show ads through Google AdSense in the future. If we do, Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and we’ll update this page before ads go live. You can manage personalized ads in Google’s ad settings.
Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested (without the # part), to keep the site secure and running. We don’t use these logs to identify you.
Emails you send us
If you email us, your address and message are used only to reply to you. We don’t add you to a mailing list or share your details.
Children
Arcana Calculator is a general-audience site and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. The rules for using the site itself are in our terms of use.
